Hurry-Registration closes midnight ET Thursday, August 13, or as soon as all available spaces are filled!

Featured Speakers: Cindy Miles, PT, MEd, PCS; Roshunda Drummond-Dye, Esq.

Physical therapists prompted by both public and private sector are beginning to rethink their approach to identifying best practices for the pediatric population. This audio conference will provide an overview of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Medicaid regulations, and billing and practice patterns relating to pediatric physical therapy settings.

Expert out-patient pediatric physical therapist, Cindy Miles, joins Roshunda Drummond-Dye, Esq., APTA Associate Director of Payment Policy & Advocacy, to provide information on the top challenges for physical therapy specializing in pediatric services. The speakers will use case studies to present the appropriate methods of coding, reporting, and collecting for services to payers. The speakers will also discuss strategies in navigating through your state Medicaid plan, finding state policies and applying Federal rules to your practice setting. During the Q & A session following the presentation you may ask your questions directly to the experts.

Upon completion of the audio conference, you will be able to:

  • Identify strategies for successfully managing claim denials and appeals.
  • Eliminate questionable coding and documentation practices to facilitate processing of your claims.
  • Identify strategies when negotiating with insurance companies.
  • Identify resources available to facilitate accurate and effective coding and appropriate reimbursement in all practice settings.
  • Apply clinical reasoning and documentation to support medical necessity of patient care.
  • Minimize denials by clearly documenting measurable function in your initial evaluation, goals, progress reports, and plan of care.
  • Navigate through federal and state IDEA and Medicaid laws and implement the provisions within your practice.
  • And much more.
