Quality Reporting Program

PQRI establishes a financial incentive for eligible professionals, including physical therapists, to participate in a voluntary quality reporting program. PTs who successfully report on at least three quality measures on claims for dates of service from January 1 to December 31, 2008, may earn a bonus payment of 1.5% of total allowed charges for covered Medicare Physician Fee Schedule services.

Beginning in 2009, physical therapists who report on quality measures will receive a 2% bonus. The reporting period for 2009 is January 1 - December 31, 2009. As of December 16, 2008, CMS had not released the measure specifications for the 2009 program. However, the same measure specifications for the 2008 program will apply to most measures approved for 2009. When this information becomes available, APTA will post it here.
