The Foundation for Physical Therapy is now accepting online
applications for the 2010-11 Promotion of Doctoral Studies
(PODS) Scholarship and the 2010 New Investigator
Fellowship Training Initiative - Health Services Research
(NIFTI-HSR)
All applications for the scholarship must be submitted by Noon, ET,
January 26, 2010, via the Foundation's online application system.
The PODS
Scholarship is part of the Foundation's Doctoral Opportunities for
Clinicians and Scholars (DOCS) program. This award of either
$7,500 or $15,000, depending on year of study, is designed to assist
physical therapists and physical therapist assistants with outstanding
academic potential focusing on a career in research in pursuit of their
doctorate degree.
The NIFTI-HSR
is designed to fund doctorally prepared physical therapists as
developing researchers in health services research and improve their
competitiveness in securing external funding for their future research
by supporting mentored research training experiences. The NIFTI-HSR will
provide $73,000 from the Foundation with another $73,000 in matching
funds from the fellow's sponsoring institution for a total award of
$146,000 more than the fellowship period of two years.
The Foundation's online system requires applicants to create a brief
personal data page when signing on for the first time. After this step
is completed, applicants will be able to access and work on their
applications an unlimited amount of times until it is submitted. No
changes can be made once the application has been submitted.
