Evidence-Based Practice
Evidence-based practice is the use of current best evidence in making
decisions about the care of individual patients. APTA supports and
promotes the development and utilization of evidence-based practice that
includes the integration of best available research, clinical expertise,
and patient values and circumstances related to patient/client
management, practice management, and health policy decision making.

Hooked on Evidence is APTA's grassroots effort to
develop a research database containing current research evidence on the
effectiveness of physical therapy interventions. Relevant articles are
reviewed and extractions with key information about each article are
provided. The research articles are linked to clinical scenarios
commonly seen in practice.
