Special Note to Participants:

On Saturday, business casual is the suggested attire for this course. Please wear clothing that allows for the usual fluctuations in air/heat in commercial buildings.

On Sunday, please come prepared for laboratory (shorts, t-shirts, sports bras/haltertops, etc.) and for air-conditioned environments throughout the day (bring warm-up or workout clothes). In addition, please bring your stethoscope and reflex hammer for the lab.

About the Screening Labs:

Three hands-on labs for screening the head and neck, the abdominal region, and the vascular and lymphatic systems of the extremities are an integral part of applying your learning to practice.  The Head and Neck Lab emphasizes palpation and cranial nerve screening. The Assessment of the Abdomen emphasizes observation of skin, palpation, percussion, and abdominal reflexes. The Extremities Lab emphasizes vascular and lymphatic assessments, identification of abnormal skin leasions characteristics, and palpation of nonmusculoskeletal structures.


Availability:

This course is available to licensed physical therapists only. A copy of your current license will be required. Please fax or mail a copy to APTA Member Services (703/706-3396) with your registration form.

Enrollment is limited to 48 participants.
