NSC 2005 Photos

Thanks to the nearly 1,000 students and educators who joined us in Denver!

See you next year in Dallas, Texas - October 27-29, 2006!

APTA President Ben F Massey, Jr, PT, MA, greets future physical therapist assistants from Hawaii after his "Open Discussion" with students.

Massey pauses for a photo with students.

Guest Speaker

Guest speaker Danny Heumann encouraged students to "Go the Extra Mile" for their future patients. Heumann, a T-6 paraplegic who has been a patient of phyiscal therapy for 20 years, told the students that they may need to become their patient's coach as well as their PT or PTA to help motivate them to reach their goals.

Sessions & Panels

Students fill a packed hall for the Opening Session in the Denver Marriott Tech center.

Moderator Jody Gandy, PT, PhD, asks panelists about their lives since graduation during the "What to Expect Once Your Student Status Becomes Professional Status" session. Panelists included Daphne Ryan, PT, DPT, Eddie Valentine, PT, Amy Stone, PT, DPT, Adam Smith, PT, and Kelly O'Hara, PTA.

Students gather together to figure out which session to attend next.

Jody Gandy, PT, PhD, offers students ideas for making the most of their clinical experiences.

Johnette Meadows, PT, MS, explains to students how being culturally sensitive is an essential element of professionalism.
