Look in your e-mailbox for APTA’s information service, PT e-Clips: Links to news you can use!

Beginning July 1, PT e-Clips will be available as a free subscription to APTA members only. Visit this page again soon for details on how to sign up.

If you want to know more:

What is PT e-Clips?
PT e-Clips is an electronic news headline Web link service that links to physical therapy- and health care-related journal articles, news stories, research resources, report and survey results, Web sites, grant announcements, and more.

How is PT e-Clips delivered?
Issues are sent in HTML format (.html) on the first and third Wednesdays of every month to an e-mail address designated by the subscriber. Note: PT e-Clips is an electronic service only; it is not available in print format.

What subjects are included in PT e-Clips?
Physical therapy news and research are at the forefront, but PT e-Clips covers additional health care-related information of interest to physical therapy professionals: informatics and technology, politics, Medicare, HIPAA, the insurance industry, reimbursement, education, health care associations, and more.

Can I read an entire article on PT e-Clips?
PT e-Clips provides only citation links to reports, surveys, news and journal articles, and other timely information. Subscribers should contact the original publishing source to obtain full-text copies of materials not provided in their entirety on the World Wide Web. Check the link’s home page for access and/or purchasing details.

How long will the links to news from PT e-Clips be valid?
All effort will be made to ensure that the links provided are accurate and accessible. Some links, however, may be accessible only for a short period of time. These links may move into a source’s archives or expire as a source updates its news. Some Web sites may require free, one-time registration or fee-based subscriptions before you view a link. Those citations will be noted.

I want to make sure my computer can accommodate the e-mail message. How large is each issue?
Page lengths vary from 6-8 printed pages (approx. 45-65 KB).

I have a security filter on my e-mail account that may block my subscription. Will I still receive PT e-Clips?
Add the e-mail address inforesources@apta.org to your e-mail address book to authorize the receipt of PT e-Clips issues.

How was PT e-Clips developed?
PT e-Clips is a spin-off of an internal news awareness roundup originally created by the Information Resources Department for APTA's Practice & Research Division staff. As more and more APTA staff asked to be added to the distribution list, it was decided that all physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, and physical therapy students also would benefit from this timely announcement of physical therapy-related items in the news.

How do I subscribe?
You will find details on this page beginning July 1 for subscribing to PT e-Clips.
