PT CPI Web Launch!
As of July 15, 2008, the APTA PT CPI Web (based on the PT CPI:
Version 2006) was officially launched as a Web-based product with 80
physical therapist academic programs already registered! The PT CPI Web
is administered through Academic Management Systems, Inc. (AMS), a
subsidiary of Liaison International, in collaboration with APTA, using
the company's market-leading assessment product - CoursEval™ - as
the underlying technology platform. AMS, as a part of its contract,
provided a comprehensive development process that included creation,
implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the Web-based APTA PT CPI. As
a part of its customer service, AMS provides training and technical
customer service for those participating physical therapist academic
programs.
As part of the development process, AMS completed beta testing with
14 volunteer physical therapist programs in the United States and Canada
from February 1 through June 20, 2008. More than 2000 users completed
the required 2-hour PT CPI online training and assessment in association
with the PT CPI Web beta testing. Currently, there are 152 physical
therapist academic programs that have registered to use the PT CPI
Web.
If your academic program is interested in using the PT CPI Web, you
will need to go to www.ptcpiweb.org to complete the PT CPI Web
Registration page that indicates your program's interest and notifies
AMS that a product support staff will need to contact you. Please note
that there is no cost involved with this registration process.
Staff will contact you to provide more information about the PT CPI Web,
the steps necessary for your program to access and use the PT CPI, and
the support and training needed. The PT CPI FAQs provides you with additional information
about this product. The annual fee for the PT CPI is $900, which
includes access to this system by ACCE/DCE, program administrator,
students, clinical instructors, and center coordinators of clinical
education. In addition, a PT
CPI online training program and assessment is required of all users
to access the PT CPI Web to ensure consistency in training and use of a
standardized instrument.
