Attendance at CSM 2020 may be worth up to 1.8 CEUs (18 contact hours/CCUs). The number of CEUs/contact hours/CCUs for each educational session will be listed in the mobile app. Review the information below for state-specific information.
APTA provides a badge scanning electronic system to verify attendance in educational sessions. Please have your badge scanned upon entrance to each session. If you change sessions, the last session scanned during a given time block will be the only one recorded. Attending educational sessions is required to earn CEUs.
Your session transcript and CEU certificate will be available in the APTA Learning Center at: http://learningcenter.apta.org through the year 2021. Click on My Learning Activities/My Courses to locate your course and download your certificate and session transcript.
CEUs will be available within 6 weeks of the conference.
Preconference CEU certificates are accessible in the APTA Learning Center. To earn CEUs for the preconference course, participants must pass a multiple-choice assessment with a score of 70% or better. The preconference assessment can be accessed at the conclusion of the course in the APTA Learning Center.

APTA courses are accepted in all states plus the District of Columbia, as allowed by the type of course requirements in state regulations. A small number of states require APTA to seek preapproval of courses. APTA seeks these approvals and lists any relevant approval codes on the certificate of completion.
Please note: CEU/contact hour numerical information is provided for informational purposes only. Each state has its own rules and regulations regarding how to calculate your licensure requirements for continuing education or continuing competence. Certain APTA courses may not receive the same credit for the CEU/contact hours listed, and you must check your state’s specific rules. Please contact your state regulatory entity for specific questions.

Colorado licensees: APTA conference CEUs/contact hours (except preconference courses) are categorized under Category II for Professional Development Activities. As such, 1 contact hour equals ½ point. Please see the information provided by the State Physical Therapy Board on Continuing Professional Competency.
Pennsylvania licensees: View the number of direct access hours that may be applied to each educational session and preconference course. Access spreadsheet (.pdf).
Nevada licensees: Usually allows about 2/3 CEUs for all live courses such as those offered as pre-conference sessions. Please double check with the state board if you have any questions.
Athletic trainers: CSM or preconference CEUs are acceptable for Category D – Non-Approved Provider credits with the Board of Certification of the National Athletic Trainers Association.
