Combined Sections Meeting (CSM) Speaker Resources

    Preconference Course Speakers

    Preconference course speakers will be preregistered for CSM preconference dates only, Tuesday, February 3, and Wednesday, February 4. If you have not received a registration confirmation, please contact aptaregistration@jspargo.com.

    Should you choose to stay and attend CSM programming, you will need to register. You can do so by calling 877/585-6003 or by selecting the "modify my registration" button on your registration confirmation.

    Your preconference badge will not admit you to CSM programming nor will it entitle you to continuing education units (CEUs). In order to attend CSM programming and to receive CEUs, you must register for CSM.

    Conference Speakers

    CSM 2015 conference speakers receive a complimentary registration for their speaking day. Speakers who wish to register for the entire conference are eligible for a discounted registration fee determined by their APTA membership status and length of speaking engagement. Speakers may register via phone at 877/585-6003.

    2-day registration - $300

    Nonmembers
    1-day registration - $225
    2-day registration - $450

    Course and Programming Locations

    All preconference courses and educational sessions will be held at the Indiana Convention Center, JW Marriott, and the Westin. Browse programming offerings. Please note room assignments, while posted, are subject to change.

    Speaker and Presenter Check-in

    Preconference and Conference Speakers

    • These speakers must check in at the speaker registration area at the Indiana Convention Center.
    • Speaker ribbons are available at speaker registration.

    Platform and Poster Presenters

    Platform Presenters
    All platform presenters should check-in at general registration. Presenter ribbons will be available at Poster Check-In outside Exhibit Hall J.  View onsite registration hours and locations.

    Poster Presenters
    After completing registration, all poster presenters should check in, according to the schedule below, at Poster Check-In outside Exhibit Hall J.  Check-in hours are as follows:

    For Group 1 (Thursday) posters, check-in will be on Wednesday, from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm OR Thursday, from 7:00 am – 1:00 pm.  You must remove your poster by 3:00 pm.
    For Group 2 (Friday) posters, check-in will be on Thursday, from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm OR Friday, from 7:00 am – 1:00 pm.  You must remove your poster by 3:00 pm.
    For Group 3 (Saturday) posters, check-in will be on Friday, from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm OR Saturday, from 7:00 am – 1:00 pm.  You must remove your poster by 3:00 pm.

    Speaker/Presenter Room

    Audiovisual equipment is available to all speakers/presenters in the speaker room located in the Indiana Convention Center, Room 130.

    Presentation Information & Resources

    When preparing your presentation, please follow the guidelines below to ensure compliance with CEU approval:

    Slide 1 Session Title Slide

    • The title slide must match the session title that is listed in the onsite program
    • The title slide should also include the conference title as well as a list of speakers, their credentials and employers

    Slide 2 - Disclosure Slide
    Speaker should disclose any relationship that could reasonably be viewed as creating a conflict of interest, or the appearance of a conflict of interest, that might bias the content of the presentation. Speaker should disclose any significant financial interest in any product, instrument, device, service or material discussed in the presentation, including the source of any third-party compensation related to the presentation. By way of examples, significant financial interest or other relationships could include employment or stockholder status or funding. Speaker is ultimately responsible for determining whether particular information should be disclosed. Disclosure should be made orally and in writing during the live presentation.

    Slide 3 - Learning Objectives

    • This slide must state the learning objectives for the session
    • The speaker must reference these same objectives at the start of their presentation

    Slide 4 Introduction to Content
    Include a course outline that addresses the major points of the presentation.

    Remaining Content Slides – Points to Consider

    • Include transitions slides
    • Include diagrams or graphic images (in black and white) or guiding questions, as appropriate
    • If the presentation includes more than one speaker, summarize each speaker’s presentation points
    • Include current references in AMA style at the end of the presentation

    Electronic files of articles may be included if:

    • You are the author, AND
    • They have been published by APTA

    Otherwise, you are responsible for obtaining copyright permission. Identify copyrighted materials by using a reference number within the body of the text or providing information directly under a chart or diagram.
