CSM 2012 in Chicago is quickly approaching, and we are looking for student volunteers! This year, we expect to bring together more than 8,000 PTs, PTAs, and students of physical therapy for several days of extraordinary programming, including highly effective networking opportunities and an exhibit hall filled with impressive products, services, and technology for the physical therapy profession. This is a great opportunity for PT and PTA students to attend CSM, learn about our educational programming, and find out more about what your professional association has to offer. Plus, the cost of your weekly CSM registration will be FREE!
Students will volunteer for 3 days, Thursday, February 9–Saturday, February 11, 2012, from 7:00 am - 6:00 pm with a 2-hour break from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm to explore the Exhibit Hall. In return, APTA will reimburse the entire registration fee of $125 (student members) and $165 (student nonmembers).
Students who are volunteering must register for CSM and e-mail a volunteer form (.doc) to CSMStudents@apta.org. After the conference, we will confirm your attendance and send a reimbursement check to you.
Volunteer assignments will include badge scanning, room monitoring, directing attendee traffic, and ribbon station management. Those who register early will first be matched with their primary section of interest (as selected on the form) providing you with the opportunity to listen in on CSM's great programming.
We are extremely excited to present this opportunity to PT and PTA students. If you have any questions or concerns, e-mail us at CSMStudents@apta.org. Thank you! We look forward to working with you.

Quotes From Past Volunteers
"Serving as an usher for APTA's Annual Conference and Exposition in June 2011, was such an AWESOME experience!!! It brought networking right to my fingertips and allowed me to meet and develop meaningful relationships with students and PTs from all across the country. As an usher, I had the wonderful experience of attending seminars that at first glance I may not have immediately elected to attend. They, not only broadened and expanded my knowledge of physical therapy, but also made me appreciate the many ways in which physical therapists are making a difference. Being an usher fueled my drive to get more actively involved within APTA and the Student Assembly. I encourage everyone to take advantage of the wonderful opportunity to volunteer at the Combined Sections Meeting 2012."

"Volunteering for the APTA has greatly enriched my PT education by introducing me to the physical therapy world on a national level. I served as a student usher at the 2011 APTA National Conference in National Harbor, MD, June 2011. As an usher, I provided assistance to the conference attendees and had the chance to network with leaders in the industry and observe several educational seminars. Additionally, I was able to meet many other physical therapy students from across the country. It was truly an honor to be there and an amazing experience!"
