Description: There is compelling evidence to support the use of cervical mobilization and manipulation in the treatment of neck pain and headaches. This intervention has been an important component of physical therapists' practice for decades. Physical therapists have long recognized the rare but significant risks associated with this intervention, and are committed to safe and effective care for their patients.
During this webinar, the speaker will review the evidence that supports the use of cervical mobilization and manipulation, and will provide evidence-based guidance for physical therapists assessing patients for the likelihood of stroke or other adverse responses from cervical intervention. The development of a risk management plan in the event of an adverse event will be discussed. Additionally, the speaker will discuss knowledge, skills, and competencies for safe and effective integration of cervical manipulation into physical therapist practice.
