The Thesis Award is given in recognition to an active or student member of the Academy of Pediatric Physical Therapy who has completed an outstanding research project as partial fulfillment for a master's degree.
The Dissertation Award is given in recognition to an active or student member of the Section on Pediatrics who has completed an outstanding research project as partial fulfillment for a doctoral degree.
Students who are interested in applying for these awards should submit electronically:
1. A cover letter
2. A copy of the study abstract with all identifying information deleted (do not just change the font color).
3. A copy of the abstract containing identifying information.
4. Evidence that the thesis or dissertation was completed within the past 2 years
5. A discussion of the relevance of the research to the practice of physical therapy
Submissions should be emailed or mailed on a disk to the Academy of Pediatric Physical Therapy Executive Office before October 1.
After screening the nominees, electronic copy of the thesis or dissertation may be requested for review by the Research Committee. The deadline for nominations is OCTOBER 1. The Thesis and Dissertation awards are presented to the recipients at the Business Meeting of the Academy of Pediatric Physical Therapy during the Combined Section Meeting (CSM).
