• New Faculty Development Workshop

  The Education Section provides a New Faculty Development Workshop that facilitates an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of faculty in higher education. Opportunities to network and learn more about how to function more effectively as a faculty are included in this program.

• International Association of Medical Science Educators (IASME)

  IAMSE is devoted to advancing the teaching of the sciences fundamental to the health care professions. Its annual meeting focuses on faculty development and take-home teaching techniques for use in teaching the sciences to professional students. IAMSE also offers regular webcast seminars on hot topics in education such as Team-Based Learning, Innovative Curricula, and Social Media in Learning, and the medical education journal JIAMSE. The 2011 meeting in St Petersburg Florida will have 250-300 attendees who will attend state of the art plenaries, focus sessions, and workshops centered on improving the art and science of teaching the mechanistic underpinnings of the health professions.

• International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (ISSOTL)

  The International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning serves faculty members, staff, and students who care about teaching and learning as serious intellectual work. The goal of the Society is to foster inquiry and disseminate findings about what improves and articulates post-secondary learning and teaching.
