May 11, 2020: APTA encourages PTs, PTAs, and physical therapy students to use this template "Letter to the Editor" to send a letter to the editor of your local newspaper opposing the estimated 8% cut to Medicare Part B reimbursement in 2021 for physical therapist services. A letter to the editor allows you to contribute to the public debate on important matters and reach a large audience. Your local newspaper(s) will have guidelines on letter submissions and where to submit your letter. Access the template letter (.docx).
Let Your Voice Be Heard
If you or your practice would be affected by the estimated 8% cut in 2021, speak out through APTA's Legislative Action Center. There are opportunities for members, nonmembers, and patients.
Keep Up With Regulatory Advocacy on the Cut
APTA provides comments on federal regulations and draft guidance—so can you. The comment period on the proposed cut will open in July 2020 and close in September.
