ALEXANDRIA, VA, March 4, 2013 — Members of the public and American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) members may vote for their favorite "Fit After 50 Member Challenge" finalist at www.moveforwardpt.com until April 5, 2013.
APTA member finalists were nominated by their colleagues for their commitment to leading a healthy and fit lifestyle at age 50+ and encouraging their patients and communities to do the same. The top 3 winners will be announced at the APTA Conference & Exposition in Salt Lake City, Utah, in June.
"The Member Challenge showcases physical therapists who exemplify the kind of healthy, active lifestyles that can encourage and inspire the patients they treat and the communities they serve," said APTA President Paul A. Rockar Jr, PT, DPT, MS. "Whether retired or actively treating patients, these finalists serve the 50+ community through activities that educate and enhance quality of life, mobility, and function."
The finalists, selected by an APTA panel, are: Herschel Budlow, PT, Pikesville, MD; Bill Case, PT, SCS, Houston, TX; Denise Denholm, PT, Evanston, IL; Kelly King, PT, MA, Mesa, AZ; Laura Knapp, PT, DPT, MS, OCS, Salt Lake City, UT; Nicholas LaRaia, PT, DPT, NCS, Durham, NC; Carl Mailhot, PT, Norwich, CT; Patsy Shropshire, PT, Dallas, TX; Paul Sullivan, PT, MHS, Cert MDT, Barrington, IL; and Jill Thompson, PT, Boise, ID.
