I strongly feel that being an active member with APTA is not just a choice, it is my duty as a physical therapist.
With the resilient work and advocacy of APTA and the Alabama Chapter, I have been able to truly enjoy being a physical therapist without fear of losing autonomy and the ability to practice.
APTA's advocacy has allowed me to help move my profession forward. It has also allowed me to continue to develop my skills in being an expert in improving mobility and motion. A portion of this continued professional development is directly attributed to the many discounted and free courses I have taken through the APTA Learning Center.
I have been an APTA member for more than 10 years, since I was a student at the University of South Alabama. I have greatly benefitted from being a member, and now I have the opportunity to give back by serving as the membership chair for my state chapter. This opportunity is great because I have a bigger platform to spread the benefits of being a member.
I stand beside APTA because APTA stands beside me.
I am a member because APTA rocks!
