Description: This presentation is designed to assist the practitioner in fulfilling the newly revised APTA vision of "Optimizing Movement" by performing qualitative movement analysis in a standardized way. Ten movement principles will be provided and elucidated. An assessment and screen will be presented to analyze fundamental movement patterns with gestaltism and objectivity. A movement based philosophy will also be conveyed that enhances communication between professionals. The concept and application of regional interdependence in exercise will be demonstrated by utilizing the Get Up and Dead Lift as common therapeutic interventions in a practical manner.
