National Student Conclave (NSC) Overview

  • What an exciting time to be entering the profession of physical therapy! At National Student Conclave (NSC), you can begin to build your nationwide network, expand your knowledge by attending unique and cutting-edge lectures, and utilize resources to ease the transition from student to professional.


    Join us at NSC where you will meet peers from across the country, make life-long connections, and experience the energy and excitement of a conference just for students. You will discover the newest and most innovative areas of physical therapy and have the opportunity to meet experts and distinguished leaders in the profession.

    How Will I Benefit?

    • Network with peers, mentors, employers, manufacturers, publishers, and APTA leaders.
    • Learn practical information not typically covered in the classroom.
    • Discover your role as a member of APTA and how you can make the most of your membership and make a difference!

    What Can I Expect?

    • Customized Learning: Choose the sessions that you want to attend throughout the weekend, including a concurrent track for PTAs.
    • Networking: Meet hundreds of students who share your interests and are dedicated to the profession.
    • Dress Code: Attire for NSC is business casual. Be comfortable, but be professional.

    What Should I Bring?

    • Copies of your resume‚ for resume workshop
    • Preprinted course handouts (made available prior to the conference)
    • Pen and paper to take notes
    • Business cards or contact information to exchange when networking

    What Other Costs Can I Expect?

    • Travel: Consider carpooling or renting the school van to bring groups from your school or schools in your area.
    • Hotel: Share rooms with classmates or other students. 
    • Any meals not provided during the conference

    NSC Exhibit Hall

    You'll have more than 5 hours to meet one-on-one with exhibitors! Visit with experts who will answer your questions, employers eager to speak with you, publishers showcasing the latest physical therapy publications, and APTA special-interest section representatives. Whether you are a first-year student or are approaching graduation, the NSC Exhibit Hall has something for you. Be sure to bring copies of your resume to share with exhibitors-one of them may be your future employer!

     The submission deadline for proposals for programming has passed.

    NSC 2015: Call for Volunteers

    APTA is seeking clinicians, faculty, or private practitioners to volunteer as resume reviewers on Saturday, October 24 from 11:00 am-12:30 pm. Reviewers will be asked to critique resumes, 2 at a time, in a face-to-face interview in 10 minute intervals. Volunteers will provide suggestions for improving format or editing. It's fast-paced and high energy. Applicants should be APTA members. Contact for more information.
