In June 2005, two bodies were formed to represent the physical therapist assistant membership in APTA, the Advisory Panel of Physical Therapist Assistants and the Physical Therapist Assistant Caucus.
As a result of the governance review process, the APTA Board of Directors voted to discontinue all advisory panels in favor of using more adaptable work groups and task forces as needed to accomplish the work of the association. At the same time, staff were provided with the authority to create work groups as needed for budgeted tasks.
All PTA members are eligible to assist the Director of PTA Services as requested for advisement and to complete the work of the association. Any member interested in volunteering with APTA should contact the Director of PTA Services at PTA@apta.org.
