APTA's PT CPI Web (based on the PT CPI: Version 2006) was officially launched July 15, 2008, as a web-based product with 8,070 physical therapist academic programs initially registered. PT CPI Web is administered through Liaison International, in collaboration with APTA, using the company's market-leading assessment product - CoursEval™ - as the underlying technology platform. Liaison International as a part of its contract, provided a comprehensive development process that included creation, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of PT CPI Web. As a part of its customer service, Liaison International provides training and technical customer service for those participating physical therapist academic programs.
As part of the development process, Liaison International completed beta testing with 14 volunteer physical therapist programs in the United States and Canada from February 1 through June 20, 2008. More than 2,000 users completed the required 2-hour PT CPI online training and assessment in association with the PT CPI Web beta testing. Currently, there are 201 physical therapist academic programs that are registered to use the PT CPI Web.
Getting PT CPI Web
Interested programs should complete the online registration. A product support staff from Liaison International will need to contact you.
Clinical Educators and Students
Clinical educators and students must first take the appropriate free CPI training course (LMS-521: 2013 PT CPI or LMS-120: 2012 PTA CPI) on the APTA Learning Center before they can edit the PT CPI or PTA CPI. (APTA membership is not required for the course or CPI access.)
Once you successfully pass the CPI training course in APTA's Learning Center, then you will login to CPI Web (which differs from the APTA Learning Center). Your username to login to CPI Web will be the valid email address that was provided to the academic PT or PTA program to create your account. Please contact the academic program with whom you are affiliated in order to obtain login instructions for CPI Web. The email address/password credentials that you used to log into the APTA Learning Center will not be the same as the username/password credentials needed to login to CPI Web. After logging into CPI Web and updating your 'My Info' profile, you will be redirected to the training verification steps when you attempt to edit the CPI for the first time. The APTA Learning Center will notify CPI Web that you successfully completed the training while completing the training verification steps. Please follow the on-screen instructions as well as the CPI Web Help Guides to assist you with using CPI Web.
There is no cost involved with the process to inquire about the registration process. Liaison International staff will contact you to provide more information about PT CPI Web, the steps necessary for your program to access and use the PT CPI, and the support and training needed. The PT CPI FAQs provide you with additional information about this product.
The annual fee to academic programs for using the PT CPI is $1050, which includes access to this system by ACCE/DCE, program administrator, students, clinical instructors, and center coordinators of clinical education. In addition, a PT CPI online training program and assessment is required of all users to access PT CPI Web to ensure consistency in training and use of a standardized instrument.
