APTA's PT CPI Web (based on the PT CPI: Version 2006) was officially launched July 15, 2008, as a web-based product with 8,070 physical therapist academic programs initially registered. PT CPI Web is administered through Academic Software Plus (AS+), a subsidiary of Liaison International, in collaboration with APTA, using the company's market-leading assessment product - CoursEval™ - as the underlying technology platform. AS+, as a part of its contract, provided a comprehensive development process that included creation, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of PT CPI Web. As a part of its customer service, Academic Software Plus provides training and technical customer service for those participating physical therapist academic programs.
As part of the development process, AS+ completed beta testing with 14 volunteer physical therapist programs in the United States and Canada from February 1 through June 20, 2008. More than 2000 users completed the required 2-hour PT CPI online training and assessment in association with the PT CPI Web beta testing. Currently, there are 170 physical therapist academic programs that have registered and use the PT CPI Web.
