  • Countdown to National Physical Therapy Month

In a letter to members, APTA President Sharon L. Dunn, PT, PhD, launches National Physical Therapy Month (NPTM) by sharing how NPTM is an important opportunity to connect with your community about the benefits of physical therapy.

Throughout the month of October, APTA will continue its #ChoosePT initiative to help combat the opioid epidemic by raising awareness of the dangers of opioids and the benefits of physical therapy as a safe alternative for long-term pain management. Consider supporting the campaign in your NPTM activities by incorporating resources and messages from the #ChoosePT webpage, as well as the National Physical Therapy Month webpage.

However you choose to recognize NPTM, please share your event photos by using the #PTmonth hashtag. And while you're at it, let the rest of the association know what you've been up to: email photos and descriptions of your activities to public-relations@apta.org for consideration for posting on the NPTM webpage.

    • Working at Shriners Hospital for Children we see a lot of little dancers. My PT motto for them is "Physical Therpists improve the way you Groove "
