Two updates on previously published falls risk measure summaries are available at the National Quality Measures Clearinghouse (NQMC). The first summary assesses the percentage of Medicare members 65 years of age and older who had a fall or had problems with balance or walking in the past 12 months, were seen by a Medicare Advantage Organization (MAO) practitioner in the past 12 months, and received falls risk intervention from their current practitioner.
The second summary assesses the percentage of Medicare members who are 75 years of age and older, or those who are 65 to 74 years of age with balance or walking problems or a fall in the past 12 months, were seen by a MAO practitioner in the past 12 months, and discussed falls or problems with balance or walking with their current practitioner.
Both measures were collected using the Medicare Health Outcome Survey.
