Barbara Malm, MBA, has been selected as the new executive director of the Foundation for Physical Therapy.
"The Foundation for Physical Therapy Board of Trustees is proud to announce the appointment of Barbara Malm as our new executive director," said Foundation Board of Trustees Chair William G. Boissonnault, PT, DPT, DHSc, FAPTA, FAAOMPT. "As our profession's national research organization, we searched for an individual with the necessary experience, skills, and passion to help lead the Foundation into the future. Barbara's history with the Foundation, business background, and fundraising experiences are traits that will help our organization grow as we embrace our future and the presented opportunities."
In her new position, Malm directs the Foundation's fundraising efforts, works closely with the Board of Trustees to advance the Foundation's mission, and supervises the awarding of doctoral scholarships, fellowships, and research grants.
Malm has worked with the Foundation for more than 4 years, most recently serving as the deputy executive director. Prior to joining the Foundation staff, she worked as a nonprofit consultant and business owner.
