APTA Exhibits at Congressional Brain Injury Fair

Yesterday, APTA exhibited at the Congressional Brain Injury Fair and answered questions from patient advocacy groups, consumers, and congressional staff members on the role of physical therapy in treating patients with brain injury. The association also participated in a congressional briefing titled "Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Re-Entry: Lessons Learned and the Road Ahead," during which presentations were given by the US Army Assistant Surgeon General and representatives from the Veteran's Health Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, among others. The fair, held in the Rayburn House Office Building of the US House of Representatives, was hosted by the Congressional Brain Injury Task Force. The task force consists of about 113 House and Senate members and is chaired by Reps Bill Pascrell (D-NJ) and Todd Platts (R-PA).
