    Stats on Back and Joint Pain in CDC's Latest Health Report

    Almost 30% of adults had back pain in 2009 in the 3 months prior to being surveyed for Health, United States, 2010, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's 34th report on the health status of the nation. Between 2002 and 2009, an equal percentage of adults reported recent symptoms of pain, aching, or swelling around a joint.

    This year's report includes 41 charts and 148 detailed tables, many of which are new or have undergone major changes. A companion to the full report, Health, United States, 2010: In Brief focuses on trends in selected health statistics. It contains summary information on the health of the American people, including mortality, life expectancy, and morbidity. It also addresses risk factors such as cigarette smoking, overweight, and obesity; access to and use of health care and health insurance coverage; and supply of health care resources.
