Registration for the 2011 APTA State Policy & Payment Forum now is open. This year's event will take place September 24-26 at the Austin Omni Downtown. The forum is designed to increase PT and PTA involvement in and knowledge of state legislative and payment issues that have an impact on the practice of physical therapy, and to improve advocacy efforts at the state level.
Programming will include presentations on PT/PTA payment differential, challenges with Medicaid, state health insurance exchanges, direct access, referral for profit and physician-owned physical therapy services (POPTS), and much more. Highlights include:
Registration is $140 for PT and PTA members and $90 for student members. Texas Chapter members receive a special discounted rate of $100 for PT and PTA members and $50 for Texas student members. This event is open to only APTA members; no onsite registration will be available. Registration closes on September 9. CEUs are 13.5 contact hours.
