APTA's Education Leadership Institute (ELI) officially began on July 18 with an orientation Webinar for the first class of 14 invited participants and 6 mentors. The next component of ELI involves completion of 3 ELI online modules in APTA’s Learning Center prior to the first face-to-face session in October in conjunction with the Education Leadership Conference. Applications for ELI’s Cohort 2012 will be available this fall and posted on the ELI Web site. ELI is a shared collaborative among APTA, the Education Section, the Academic Council, and the PTA Educators Special Interest Group. This year-long invitational blended learning program is designed to develop physical therapist and physical therapist assistant education program directors with leadership skills to facilitate change, think strategically, and engage in public discourse to advance the physical therapy profession.
