People With Critical Illness are coeditors Patricia
Ohtake, PT, PhD, Dale Needham, MD, and Dale Strasser, MD. The group also
discusses quality improvement research, a key topic of the articles in the
February edition of the critical care special series. The first part of the
series was published in the December 2012 issue.
Let us all hope she practices in private practice where she can deal with the regulations the private practice owners navigate. In addition, she can advocate for Medicare change rather than ignorantly upholding these policies as a model for practice as some do.

This month's PTJ article "Translating Research Into Clinical Practice: The Role of Quality Improvement. .." is relevant to many settings and care types. It provides a clear bridge between clinical care / QI and translational research. Think of how many measures and observations could be both clinical- and research-friendly if our QI processes in all settings were better structured.
