APTA and physical therapists are active in lobbying Congress to ensure that patient services remain covered under programs like Medicare. It is important for patients to also let their voices be heard.
Act Now! Prevent Caps on Your Treatment!
If Congress doesn't take action by February 29, 2012, a hard therapy cap will be imposed on Medicare-covered physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech language pathology services.
On April 14, 2011, Congressmen Jim Gerlach (R-PA) and Xavier Becerra (D-CA) in the House of Representatives and Senators Ben Cardin (D-MD) and Susan Collins (R-ME) introduced The Medicare Access to Rehabilitation Services Act (H.R. 1546/S. 829). This legislation will repeal the cap on therapy services for Medicare beneficiaries once and for all.
Please take just a few minutes and ask your representatives to support this legislation to repeal the cap and protect your physical therapy benefits.
Take action! Repeal the cap!
