What You Should Know for 2019
On November 1, 2018, the final 2019 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) was released by the US Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The rule contains changes to the Quality Payment Program, including to the new requirement for certain physical therapists to participate in MIPS beginning in 2019. (Review more information on MIPS).The final fee schedule also eliminates functional limitation reporting and establishes 2 new therapy modifiers to identify the outpatient therapy services furnished in whole or in part by physical therapist assistants or occupational therapy assistants beginning January 1, 2020.
