What You Should Know for 2019
On July 12, 2018, the proposed 2019 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) was released by the US Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The proposed rule includes changes to the Quality Payment Program, including a proposal to require physical therapists to participate in MIPS beginning in 2019. (Review more information on MIPS).The proposed fee schedule also includes a proposal to eliminate functional limitation reporting and establishes 2 new therapy modifiers to identify the outpatient therapy services furnished in whole or in part by PTAs or OTAs beginning January 1, 2020.
