APTA's State Legislative Leadership Award was established in 1993. This award recognizes the work of an individual APTA member on behalf of a component's state legislative efforts in a given year.
APTA components are encouraged to submit nominees for the 2012 APTA State Legislative Leadership Award. This award was created to recognize the work of an individual APTA member on behalf of a component's state legislative efforts during the award year. Each year, the depth and breadth of the legislative activities of the nominees astound us. The selfless dedication to their profession's legislative goals makes choosing only one honoree a year a very difficult, but rewarding task.
Components wishing to nominate one of their members for this award should complete and submit the nomination form (.pdf), along with letters of support or other documentation detailing why the individual nominee should receive the award - to APTA's State Government Affairs Department by Friday, June 29, 2012, to be considered for this year's award.
This year's recipient will be invited to attend the 2012 APTA State Policy & Payment Forum to be held in Alexandria, VA, December 1-3, with expenses paid by APTA. The award will be presented at the Forum during a reception in the recipient's honor. The recipient will also receive recognition on the APTA website, as well as in PT in Motion and PT in Motion: News Now.
