Rachelle Warnock is a candidate for SPTA delegate on the Student Assembly Board of Directors.
My name is Rachelle Warnock and I am 22 years old. I am currently a student PTA at Community College of Allegheny County—Boyce in Monroeville, Pennsylvania. I have known since high school that I wanted to work in the physical therapy field. Most people change their majors or go into college unsure of what they would like to do, but I knew from the beginning I was born to work in this field.
I was a very talented athlete with a full scholarship to play college softball. I was injured and was never able to return to the field. I decided at that moment to do whatever I could to help people like me recover from their injuries. I applied to the PTA program and was ecstatic to find out that I got in.
I feel I am a very hard-working person. When I find something I am interested in I am passionate and make sure to put everything I have into whatever project it is. I have done numerous volunteering jobs. I work as a volunteer baseball coach, and I also started a Shoes4Kids drive at my job to support the good cause. That charity drive was started by a PTA, and I immediately felt the need to help. Not only am I an excellent worker, I also work well under pressure and stress, and organization is one of my strong points. Responding to phone calls and e-mails would not be a problem because I check both daily. I'm not shy about standing up for what I believe in and that is why I believe I would make a good delegate.
If I am elected I promise I will not let you down. As a fellow SPTA I want to act as a voice, not just for myself, but for all SPTAs out there, to show that maybe we can make a change. This would not only be an amazing educational experience for me, but it would also give me a great leadership experience and personal experience as well.
