Annual Events & Activities
- Federal Advocacy Forum (includes PT Day on Capitol Hill)
This annual event is designed to increase your knowledge of federal issues and teach you how to effectively lobby members of Congress.
- State Policy & Payment Forum
This annual event is designed to increase your involvement in and knowledge of state policy issues that have an impact on the practice of physical therapy, and improve your advocacy efforts at the state level.
- State Legislative Leadership Award
APTA is now accepting nominations for the 2012 State Legislative Leadership Award. This award recognizes the work of an individual APTA member on behalf of a component's 2012 state legislative efforts. The deadline for nomination submissions is Friday, June 29, 2012.
- Student Advocacy Challenge
The Student Advocacy Challenge was created to inspire PT and PTA students to get involved in advocacy on the state and federal levels. Participating in the Challenge will help students to learn more about the legislative process and to become more aware of the issues facing physical therapy in the legislature.
