Volunteering with APTA is a great way to learn, grow, and make a difference in your association. APTA offers a variety of ways to serve and make a difference for your profession.
Interested applicants should still complete the volunteer interest profile to be eligible for other volunteer opportunities as they become available throughout the year as needs arise. Please look for announcements regarding these volunteer opportunities in PT in Motion: News Now, your component newsletters, and other communication channels.
Call for Volunteers
The following groups are currently seeking volunteers. The deadline to submit your application is Thursday, March 7, 2013.
Board-appointed Volunteer Groups
Board-appointed volunteer groups engage in tasks and activities related to the challenges and opportunities facing the physical therapy profession. Board-appointed volunteer groups include committees and task forces. Committees help inform the Board of Director's decision making on strategies, priorities, and core functions. Task forces help inform the Board of Director's decision making on emerging issues and initiatives.
The Board typically makes committee and task force appointments once per year with additional calls for volunteers for Board-appointed groups going out as needed throughout the year.
Volunteer Work Groups
Volunteer work groups also engage in tasks and activities related to the challenges and opportunities facing the physical therapy profession. Volunteer groups are work groups that advise staff in association management. Work groups are selected throughout the year by staff as needs arise.
