This course will provide the participants with current examination, evaluation, and treatment skills for the management of common sports related wrist and hand injuries. The course will provide an overview of the patho-anatomy and patho-biomechanics of each injury. Management from initial injury to return to sports activities will be emphasized.
Upon completion of this course, you'll be able to:
1) Describe the pathology, anatomy, and biomechanics of each injury. 2) Describe histology, healing principles, and fracture classification. 3) Describe acute management including the appropriate referral to other medical providers. 4) Describe rehabilitation procedures. 5) Describe the usage of splints and tapes for rehabilitation and return to sports activities.
