What are the ethical dangers when we're forced to choose among the story we're told, the one we believe to be true, and the one we'd like to tell ourselves? Consider the following scenario.

At What Price Efficiency?

Jim has been a staff physical therapist (PT) at Bluefin Rehab for 8 years and loves everything about his job—the patient and client mix, the professionalism and camaraderie of his colleagues, and the inspired leadership of practice owner Lisa. Lisa reassures staff that she's vetted the new owners and is confident they're "good guys" who will keep intact the patient-centered ethos that has been Bluefin's calling card in its quarter-century serving the community. Jim is further mollified by the news that Lisa will stay on as practice manager for a year.
