APTA's centennial in 2021 naturally prompts a review of the evolution of the association and of the profession. That's not too difficult. The history of the association and the profession have been written day by day, year by year, decade by decade since 1921.

Looking ahead, though, is a different matter. The profession will face an almost limitless number of choices and influences, internal and external. Some are predictable. Many aren't.
