FLR Reporting Issues
The payment adjustment phase of Functional Limitation Reporting (FLR) was scheduled to go into effect on July 1, 2013; however, this was delayed until October 1, 2013. Following the implementation phase of the payment adjustment APTA has become aware of systems issues that have resulted in processing delays and errors of some claims with FLR data. APTA has been working with Medicare central staff to resolve these issues.
Physical therapists (PTs) who are having issues with FLR claims should first review their claims for common errors and mistakes and then review the resources below that pertain to their challenge/situation.
APTA has highlighted a few of the more common FLR challenge areas and related strategies/resources to assist members with these issues below.
