PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Professional Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program at the University of Central Arkansas (UCA) is designed to develop outstanding physical therapy professionals who are practicing autonomously in the global community.  Admission occurs following completion of a baccalaureate degree including 48 hours of prerequisite course work.  The program is three years in length (126 hours) and includes 43 weeks of clinical internships.  Students are provided opportunities for elective work in specialty areas.  UCA’s DPT program is physically located on a beautiful college campus of 13,000 students in the city of Conway, at the foothills of the Ozark Mountains, just 22 miles from Little Rock.  The Department of Physical Therapy is housed in its own modern 40,000 square foot building with state of the art facilities and separate, newly constructed gross anatomy laboratory.  All faculty members are doctorally prepared and five are certified clinical specialists.  The Department is also home to a PhD program in Physical Therapy as well as a Clinical Residency Program in Pediatrics.
