HOD S06-20-28-25: All PTs are obligated to comply with the Code of Ethics for the Physical Therapist.

At its 2025 meeting, the APTA House of Delegates adopted a new Code of Ethics for the Physical Therapy Profession that combines the Code of Ethics for the Physical Therapist and the Standards of Ethical Conduct for the Physical Therapist Assistant into one comprehensive document that will go into effect Jan. 1, 2026. At that time the Code of Ethics for the Physical Therapist found on this page will be removed and replaced with the new language as documented within the 2025 House of Delegates minutes.
