Eligibility: The qualified physical therapist (PT) or physical therapist assistant (PTA) member must be a graduate of (i) a PT or PTA program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) (the program must be accredited at time of graduation) or (ii) a foreign program deemed substantially equivalent to an accredited program by credentials evaluation.
Licensure is not required, but in most cases licensure by a US jurisdiction will be treated as sufficient evidence of graduation from a program that satisfies (i) or (ii). First-time PT and PTA members can choose to submit direct evidence of graduation (diploma or transcripts and, if foreign-educated, a credentials evaluation report) or a copy of a license from any US jurisdiction.
