Principal Functions

This position:

  • Supports and helps implement onsite meetings and events at APTA’s Centennial Center building headquarters
  • Supports the Member Events team with offsite meetings to include the annual Combined Sections Meeting (CSM) and the Leadership
  • Helps develop and support the on-demand edition of CSM
  • Provides additional support to other department activities, including governance-related meetings
  • Supports unit efforts with a focus on departmental contributions to membership strategy for the Association.

  • Participates and support efforts for appointed and member volunteer groups and APTA leadership.

  • Supports preparation of compliance requirements and documents andseeks out opportunities for continuous quality improvement in department activities.

  • Is an effective champion of theAssociation vision, mission and brand.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, plus 3 years' association or equivalent experience, preferred CMP, preferred

  • Experience in association meetings and events

  • Ability to clearly communicate and collaborate with multiple stakeholders for onsite meetings Outstanding Customer Service skills

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously Critical thinking skills

Physical Demands

  • Ability to travel approximately 10% locally and nationally
  • Ability to work some nights and weekends
  • Ability to lift and carry minimum of 20 lbs.
  • Reaching overhead, stooping, sitting, standing, bending, pulling and pushing
