Medicare officials may say that budget neutrality requirements are driving the proposed 9% cut to physical therapy reimbursement, but that's not the whole story. The fact is, Medicare can acknowledge the damaging effects of the cuts and follow the advice of 157 bipartisan U.S. House members to change course before it's too late.

That's the message Medicare needs to hear loud and clear. And we're going to deliver that message on Oct. 1 — with your help.

APTA is calling on all PTs, PTAs, and physical therapy students to come together in a major one-day push on Oct. 1 to generate as many messages to Medicare as possible, and we're kicking off the effort with a virtual rally on Sept. 30. Join us online to learn why it's so important that we contact Medicare — and get others to do the same. Watch this two-minute video that sets the stage for our effort.

The deadline to voice your opposition is Oct. 5, less than one week away. It's critical to lend your support to this effort. We've made it easy — using our prewritten letter, it only takes about 60 seconds to make your voice heard.
