Our association is led by the service of our member leaders.

APTA is led by a national Board of Directors, which is elected by the House of Delegates, a policy-making body made up of APTA members from across the country.

The Board establishes APTA's national strategic plan, which supports our mission and vision statements.

APTA's federated model includes components comprising 51 state chapters and 18 special-interest sections.

Opportunities for members with like interests to connect outside of official leadership or governance roles are available Member Engagement Groups, which include councils, networks, and societies.
