This scholarship supports physical therapist students to attend APTA Combined Sections Meeting for academic and professional growth and networking opportunities. A minimum of 15 scholarships are awarded annually to provide complimentary registration to APTA CSM and a $1,000 stipend for travel and housing accommodations.
These awards are sponsored by the PT Fund and voluntary contributions.
Eligibility Requirements
Nominees must be:
- Physical therapist students who are current members in good standing of the association.
- Physical therapist students must be enrolled in the second or final year of study in a CAPTE-accredited DPT program by APTA CSM.
Self and peer nominations are accepted for this award.
Criteria for Selection
Nominees must demonstrate:
- A commitment to attend and actively participate in APTA CSM.
- Academic excellence.
- Dedication and service to the profession and association.
- Potential for superior achievements in the profession of physical therapy, as well as excellence as a physical therapist.
Submission Requirements
The nominator must submit a nomination statement (nomination statements are 300-words) to begin the process.
The nominee is responsible for the following:
- Completing an online application (application questions are 500-words)

The nominations call for the APTA Catherine Worthingham Fellows CSM Student Scholarship Award is open from Sept. 1 to Oct. 2. Nominations must be submitted through APTA Achieve by Oct. 2; late submissions will not be considered.
