All older adults should be screened for risk of falling. With National Falls Prevention Awareness week happening in September, here's a recap of reasons why and resources to help PTs meet that standard.

Some people are at obvious risk for falls, such as older adults who've had a stroke or need special assistance with mobility. But, as Jennifer Vincenzo, PT, MPH, PhD, associate professor in the Department of Physical Therapy for the University of Arkansas notes, it's with people who aren't always targeted that physical therapists can really make a difference.
