APTA annually recognizes both veterans and newcomers to the profession. Newly named Catherine Worthingham Fellows of the American Physical Therapy Association are seasoned professionals. (Fellows are identified with the designation "FAPTA" after their names.) Emerging leaders are comparative newcomers — those with five to 10 years of experience — who have been nominated by their section/academy or chapter as rising stars in the profession.
