Lymphedema, or swelling in a person's body from a buildup of lymph fluid, is a medical condition that affects up to 10 million people in the United States. Patients with lymphedema are often under the care of another health professional, as it is frequently a side effect of cancer treatment, radiation treatment, or infections. The condition can be painful and cause functional limitations, as well as aesthetic concerns for the patient.
