Until relatively recently, the land of physical therapy residencies in the United States was a desert, with virtually no accredited offerings for clinicians interested in advancing their expertise and careers. Today, that landscape is more like a rainforest, with over 400 accredited programs and others in the wings. For the past 25 years, APTA has supported and corralled that growth through policies tied to accreditation.
